Welcome

We're Excited!!

Thank you all for your wonderful words of congratulations with our recent engagement!!  We are blessed to have such loving family and friends!

God, Faith, Family, Friends...  all very important aspects of our current and future lives together and will be the focus of our wedding and marriage.  Our one definite plan right now is that the ceremony will be held at the Pulaski Congregational Church... a special place for the both of us, with Reverend Jim officiating!

We've been busy with school, work, and home stuff so wedding plans have been a little slow.  We have ideas in place, which is at least something!

Week of September 3-10: Date Set

We have been in our new home in Oswego for a little over a month and are finally returning to the comforts of everyday living.  We had our TV, internet, and phone hooked up this week!

We Have a Date:  June 14, 2008!   We have also lined up a possible reception at the McCrobie Civic Center, overlooking lake Ontario and right next to Breitbeck Park.  The McCrobie Center also houses The Oswego Music Hall, where Rob and I have attended some Saturday evenings.  www.oswegomusichall.org  It is a very cozy, inviting, and enjoyable place.  The take reservations only by the calendar year, so the place won't be permanently set until January.

Week of October 8

Plans continue...

I got my dress a few weeks ago.  We also chose our attendants (see the list by clicking on the bridal party link to the left).  We are planning on an evening wedding... 6-ish or so, with the reception around 7:30.   We are planning a cocktail reception with hor d'heurves and desserts.

Week of November 25

We are looking forward to the end of our semesters!  We just haven't had much time to look at wedding stuff for the past few months.

After the holidays we are looking forward to having time for some more home improvements too!

Happy New Year!

We are taking a little vacation in South Carolina!   We will be updating more information on this site when we get back (for further website links, phone numbers, and addresses).

Week of January 20

We have updated the accomodations.  We have 3 area hotels with rooms blocked for the Friday and Saturday (June 13 and 14).  They have set rates (better than typical rates), however, I was browsing online and you may be able to get a better deal online or with AAA.  We are budget travelers and always look for the best deal.   All 3 include complimentary breakfast as well.  We have also included other area hotels, motels, b&bs, and campsites.  If you have any difficulty or have any questions, let me know!  (email riles222@yahoo.com).

We have also met with the florist, bought invitations, and put a preliminary order in for a cake.  We meet with our caterer this week.  Ideas are beginning to progress...

Week of February 3

Some people have asked where the closest hotel to the reception would be...  the best answer is probably the Best Western and Econo Lodge (approx 1 mile away).  NOTE - there will be bridge construction going on which will cause a detour, but the detour won't be too far out of the way.  More information on the detour will be added with specific directions to the church and reception at a little later time.  Keep checking back!

Week of April 6

Things are fastly approaching!   There are some important additions (it has been awhile since I've had the chance to update this site).

We have added some registries (see registry section if interested).

Detour:  Bridge Street bridge is now out of commision until at least the fall.  Detour signs are the new scenery around Oswego.  I will be posting detour maps & information on this site.  It seems to be going well, from what we hear.

Set Up and Clean Up Crew:  If anyone is interested in helping out, email me: riles222@yahoo.com   Set up will be on Friday June 13 from 3pm-?  Clean up will be immediately following reception.

Day After Brunch:  Tara's parents will be hosting a little brunch on Sunday June 15.  Start time around 9am, although it will be come and go as you please.   See the section about  wedding events.

softball anyone?

June 14th SOFTBALL GAME????????

Rob wants to plan a little softball game on June 14th (probably late morning).  He is thinking groom side vs bride side... Anyone in the area on that morning is welcome to come play or watch.  It looks like mostly guys at this point, but ladies, don't let that defer you from joining if you want!  Just email me if interested riles222@yahoo.com

Keep an eye on this event/more information under "wedding events."
